The app is not released yet. These are answered from what this site already says, and where something is not decided, the answer says so.
What it is
What are you building?
A companion for children two to eight, and a child-development specialist for you. For your child: stories, games, making things and finding things out, with Sparky and his friends, who learn what your child loves and grow with them. For you: one real question about your child, answered from published research. The app is not released yet.
The three parts →When does it launch, and can I try it now?
Soon. There is no date yet, and we would rather say so than invent one. There is no app you can install today. What is here now is the free question tool and the answers already written. The waiting list gets at most one email a month until there is more to say.
Join the waiting list →How much will it cost?
We have not announced a price, and we will not guess at one here. What we can say now is what will not be in it: no advertising, nothing to buy inside it, and nothing that asks your child to keep going. If you want to hear when that changes, the waiting list is one field.
Join the waiting list →What is free today?
The child-development specialist. Ask one real question about your child, in your own words, and get an answer drawn from published research and clinical guidance, with the sources it drew on named and the gaps named too. The short answer comes first. Where the research does not cover a question, it says so and stops. One email, no account, and no waiting list needed.

What will my child do with it?
Stories to hear, games to play, things to make up and things to find out. Songs, questions, quiet time. A song for the shoes, something for the car, a way to name a feeling at four o'clock. Sparky and his friends learn what your child loves and grow with them.
Who are Sparky and his friends?
Six friends. Sparky, the companion. Pebble, the maker. Fenn, the bookish one. Bo, the exuberant one. Kip, the eager one. Willa, the gentle one. They explore with your child, grow as they grow, and remember what they love. They will never ask your child for anything.
Meet the cast →Will it try to keep my child on the screen?
No. Nobody is selling anything to your child. No advertising, nothing to buy, and no reason to keep going. No ratings, no streaks, no five more minutes. Not as a setting you can turn off, as a thing we did not build.
The five things it will not do →Can I see what my child did, and turn things off?
Yes. You will be able to see what your child heard and played, and to turn themes off without explaining yourself to us. The details of how that looks come with the app, and this page will say so when they do.
Trust and privacy
Is my child's voice or data safe with you?
Today we hold no data about your child at all. There is no app yet, no child account, and nothing on this site asks you anything about them: not a name, not a voice, not an age. When that changes, the privacy page is rewritten before the app ships, not after, and it will say what is collected, why, and for how long.
Read the privacy page →Will it diagnose my child, or compare them to other children?
Neither. It has never met your child. You have. It will describe what is typical, name what a behaviour is usually called, and say what the research says about its course. It will not tell you what is happening with your child, and it will not tell you that nothing is. No percentiles, no charts, and no age by which something should have happened. If you want an answer about your child specifically, the honest route is a person who can see them.
The five things it will not do →Does it talk to my child?
Not on this site. There is no child account, no voice and no chat here, and the answers are written for you. When the app exists, Sparky and his friends will talk with your child. That is a different surface with different rules, and it will never be the thing answering your questions about them. The two are kept apart on purpose.
What do you do with my email address?
We send one email confirming the address is yours, and after that at most one a month until the app exists. A question you ask is kept with the address so we can send you the answer when it is written. No advertising networks, no data brokers, and no arrangement under which your address is worth money to anyone. No analytics script, no pixel, and no cookies on this site. Unsubscribing deletes your address.
